Support your Linguistics Research with Data Management Planning!
The research data management landscape is rapidly evolving—from funder policies, to institutional strategies, data management planning (DMP), and data deposit. This workshop will provide participants with essential information relating to the development of data management plans to support their research, including their importance and benefits, what makes a ‘good’ DMP, in-depth overview of their key components, and specific things to consider as Linguistics researchers. A hands-on demonstration of the freely available Portage Data Management Planning (DMP) Assistant will be offered, and participants are welcome to create an account prior to the session should they wish to learn to navigate and use this gold standard data management planning tool. Additionally, resources to help you develop your own DMP — including guidance documents and Exemplar DMPs — will be provided!

Hosts: James Doiron & Jorge Emilio Rosés Labrada — University of Alberta
Sponsor: Canadian Linguistics Association / Association canadienne de linguistique
